Econet Wireless is a diversified telecommunications group with
operations and investments in Africa, Europe, South America and the East
Asia Pacific Rim, offering products and services in the core areas of
mobile and fixed telephony services, broadband, satellite, fibre optic

Econet has over 9 million subscribers in Zimbabwe's
making it the dominant mobile operator representing over 65.3% of the mobile market.
Primarily through Econet's continued investment in capacity, Zimbabwe's
penetration rate has increased from 74% in 2012 to the current 106%. It has an efficient network system with world class infrastructure supporting the latest 3G network system.

Internet infrastructure has been Econet's priority. Through its subsidiary company, Liquid Telecom, which is an independent data, voice and IP
provider, supplying wholesale fibre optic, satellite and international
carrier services to telecommunications operators in developing
countries. Liquid owns and operate extensive fiber optical network
infrastructure (in southern Africa) and multiple satellite ground
facilities in the United Kingdom, Botswana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Zambia,
Lesotho, Somalia, Burundi, Niger and Kenya, utilising three satellite
transponders.

In educational technology, Econet introduced Ecoschool, which is meant to make education affordable for every student. It further goes on to fund charitable work done through Higherlife Foundation.
